Hey guys I’m Jeremiah and thanks for checking out Evolving Male. I created this website as a motivational and accountability tool for myself and hopefully others can get the same use out of it.

So a little about me. My friends call me JJ and I’m a 34 year old guy from Grand Rapids, Michigan. I stand at 6’-2” and weigh in at right around 300 lbs. Not exactly fighting weight. I have a wonderful wife (Sarah) and together we created a pretty awesome little human being named Ethan who is almost 2 years old.

We live a pretty awesome life so really I’ve got nothing to complain about in that department. We have a house with a pool, 2 little dogs that are pretty cool (except for when Oakley craps on the floor), and a really awesome group of friends. I work quite a few hours at my job so between that and hanging out with Ethan when I have the chance there isn’t a whole lot of time to devote to fitness….well at least that’s the excuse I use anyways.

I’ve been overweight for the better part of my adulthood. When I was in High school I was really quite active with sports and my senior year I was about 200 lbs. Which at 6-2 was right about the weight I thought I should be. After High school and a brief stint in boot camp (USMC- Diagnosed with asthma after failing a breathing test due to Bronchitis) I went to the police academy at a local college. There was plenty of running and physical activity at the police academy so I stayed in pretty good shape.

While in college at the police academy I also worked in construction so plenty of activity there as well. After the academy and working at a local police department for a few years I decided that job just wasn’t for me. So I went back to the construction company I use to work for as an estimator.

Not being used to having only an office job without daily activity my weight shot up to around 300 lbs and has pretty much stayed there since. That was about 10 years ago now.

Like most people who are pissed off about their weight I’ve tried to lose it many times. Many Many times. The problem isn’t that I don’t know what I need to do. It’s that I am pretty good with coming up with excuses when I don’t feel like doing those things. Well that shit ends now.

I plan on putting together videos as well as posting on the blog so be sure to check those out when they’re up and hopefully you can see from the beginning how I succeeded in my journey and can be inspired to do the same. There’s certainly nothing special about me so I know that if I can do it you can to. We just have to stick to the damn thing. Feel free to comment and ask questions and even criticize if that’s your thing. I will try to get back to as many of you as I can.

Until next time

Jeremiah Jordan
